This QB battle is probably going to be a close one cause both were successful in their own ways last season.
QB1 star Sam Hartman was the starter entering last season and broke multiple records he was the first QB sense Mike Elkins to throw for multiple TDs in the first three games at Wake Forest. His 2,259 total yards of offense was 15th most by any ACC freshman. His 1,984 Passing Yards was the 18th most by any ACC freshman. His 16 Passing TDs was tied for 12th most by any ACC freshman. Sadly Sam's season was cut short as he had suffered a broken leg against Syracuse. With Hartman out Jamie Newman stepped in for the last three games where Wake Forest was 4-5 and were going to face NC State, Pitt, and Duke as they were two games away from Bowl Eligibility and Newman went 2-1 making them bowl eligible. Went on to face Memphis and won. This is probably going to be a tough one for Dave Clawson to decide.
Jamie Newman's Stats
1083 Passing Yards, 9 Passing TDs 4 INT, 59.6 Completion %, 247 Rushing Yards, 4 Rushing TDs
Sam Hartman's Stats
1984 Passing Yards, 16 Passing TDs, 8 INT, 55.3 Completion %, 275 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing TDs. #allsportsnews #cfb #cfbnews #college #collegefootball #collegefootballnews #collegesports #ncaafootball #studentathlete #collegefootballqb #collegeathlete #quarterback #samhartman #jamienewman #wakeforest #demondeacons #wakeforestdemondeacons
